Approximately 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the state, generating wind gusts hitting over 100 km/h.

State Emergency Services received nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, primarily for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

During the peak on Sunday, over twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in the state were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity anticipated across multiple regions of both states.

Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
